School Vignettes
With a view to encouraging the interest of local school children we have for the past four years presented, free of charge to local elementary schools, musical adaptations of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, notably Pirates of Penzance. These 45 minute vignettes consist of a costumed mini-cast performing a condensed version including solo numbers interspersed with commentary. These are followed by a question-and-answer session where the children are encouraged to look on this live entertainment as something they might want to make a continuing part of their lives, either as performers or as an audience member.
